Search Tips
Use quotation marks
for more precise searches. For example, searching for "Ancient Greece" brings up only products with that
exact
phrase rather than products that contain
either
the word “Ancient”
or
“Greece”.
Use wildcards (*)
to expand a search to include variations of a word. For example searching for “America*” will pull up products that contain the phrase "America 1492" or the phrase "American Revolution."
Check the spelling
of the search word or phrase you entered. It's all too easy to enter what we think is the correct word to find out that we've missed a letter or added an extra character by mistake.
Don't bother entering dashes
when searching by a whole or partial ISBN. The system will automatically strip them out, so save yourself some keystrokes!
If searching by ISBN
, remember that you do not need to enter the complete number.
Try entering the last 4 or 5 digits
to avoid miskeying the whole thing.
If searching by ISBN, don't bother entering the first few numbers
since they are used on nearly every product. For example, entering '978' would bring up every single product in our catalogues! (The same thing would happen if you enter any of these number combinations: '4109', '4034', '5757')
Note that the web site will typically only contain products showing in the most recent catalogues
. So perhaps the product you are trying to find is not currently in print or has been removed from the web site. If this is the case, please
let us know
what product you are looking for so that we can see if it is available from our warehouse.
If you're searching for a web page
instead of a product,
try using the navigation buttons
at the top (or bottom) of this page or use our
Site Map
to help track it down. If you still can't find it,
let us know
and we'll try to help you find what you're looking for!
